Why be on the Creative Problem Solving Team?
People -- You willl get to know a lot of UTD students and staff that you would almost otherwise never get to know outside of Creative Problem Solving. Gina Felts is our Team Manager, and we also work closely with Dr. Coleman, Undergraduate Dean. In the past we have performed for Dr. Jenifer, the University President, and we also have special access to the faculty for professional reference in our problem solving.
Involvement -- Want to get a job on campus? Be involved in SUAAB or Student Government? Want to apply to be a Peer Advisor? One of the main things that make a student stand out to these organizations is your involvement at UTD, and one great way to get involved is through Creative Problem Solving. It shows you can work well in a team and you are dedicated to your school.
Funding -- The University of Texas at Dallas has the ONLY fully funded creative problem solving team in the United States. At UTD you don't have to pay in order to participate on a Creative Problem Solving Team. You can join for free if you have the enthusiasm and dedication!
Fun!!!
-- Lets face it, what we do is fun! We find highly creative solutions
to wacky problems, and then we travel throughout the state and country
competing against other teams. We have a retreat at the beginning of the
year where we really get to know all our team members, and we don't just
travel to places but actually get to see the sights around where we go.
And throughout it all, we have an outlet for our creativity! So, if you
can act, sing, dance, write scripts, paint, make props, like to build
things with power tools, carve, enjoy doing improv, if you are funny,
witty, zany, or have competed in Odyssey of the Mind or other Creative
Problem Solving in the past, contact Gina Felts about joining UTD's Creative
Problem Solving Team!
